Click on the bibliography item below to see a presentation that I gave at the Tulsa Techfest 2007 conference, October 19, 2007. It contains a practical definition of Management by Project (MBP) and it includes what I believe are the two most important words in business. The presentation also describes an experiment that Dr. Nicholas Romano and I have conducted regarding the efficiency and effectiveness of project management graphics, including earned value management (EVM) graphics. Preliminary results are provided. If you would like a higher-quality version of this presentation, please click on the Contact Us button on the upper right corner of this page.

You have objectives to achieve and a purpose to fulfill. And perhaps you are wondering if Management by Project (MBP) will help. Is it like Management by Objectives (MBO)? No. Let's start by defining the term MBP and then get straight to work, because your work is what matters the most and you can learn MBP along the way.
Note: We don't use the classic definition of MBP, because it is flawed! Sorry to be so blunt, but we have important work to do, right? (If you must know why it is flawed, read the article "Building a Stronger Foundation.")
